Betty Skirt by Shaffer Sisters: Tardy to the Tour Party!

You know how you plan to do something well in advance, you get everything ready to go and then…life happens. Well, in my case, pattern design happens and the rest of life gets set aside! With that said, I bring you a oh-so-tardy blog tour post showcasing this adorable, quick sew, fun skirt pattern- the Betty Skirt by the talented trio known as the Shaffer Sisters.

First things first- this skirt sews up in a jiffy. I mean like totally doable during nap time! I chose to do the gathered skirt with a faux placket to keep things fancy but easy.

The size range on this skirt is top notch, with a great tutorial for mixing lengths and widths as needed per the sizing guide. There are pattern pieces to print, but for the option I chose I cut a few simple rectangles and was on my way!

I love a skirt with a yoke because it makes it just THAT much twirl-ier (totally a word, right?). And, my prima ballerina didn’t hold back at swirls in her new skirt!

The front button placket can be fo-real or faux and I just didn’t want to take the time to put in buttonholes because my sweetie pie is well known for removing clothing on the fly and that would make it all too easy for her! The directions for creating the placket were clear and made things nice and quick!

I tried my hardest to make this look Christmas-y to coordinate with the print but, in 80 degree sunshine it was a little tough. K was a trooper and kind of loved wearing a scarf!

I hope you enjoy my late contribution to an all-star blog tour of an all-star skirt pattern. The good news is you can check out the entire line up on the Shaffer Sister’s Blog and see all 14 days of amazing Bettys!
