Back to School already?!?!!? I swear just yesterday my oldest sweetie graduated from Kinder and here we are- August- ready to go back to school! I can’t believe how fast the summer goes by but boy was it a fun one!
The darling mermaids over at Made for Mermaids invited me to join the fun in their sewing-star studded Back to School blog tour and I couldn’t pass up the opportunity to try a new pattern, shop for some fun fabrics and dress my girl up in a cute new school outfit! Let’s a take a look at what I sewed up!
I eagerly picked the Katelyn Jumper to play with and it is just SO precious! The Katelyn Jumper is for girls sizes 1/2 through 14, has fun pockets and super cute button straps. It is a super quick sew with really beginner friendly instructions.
For the fabrics, I shopped Hawthorne Threads for some fun back to school inspired fabrics and selected this great typewriter print from Pastel Thrift for Art Gallery Fabrics for the skirt fabric and Apples in Green from the London Calling collection from Robert Kaufman.
Anytime that I sew something and there are pockets I always receive the biggest hug and the most compliments from my kiddos. Pockets make everything better!
The jumper pattern has generous ease so the dress can just slip on and off over the head easily. I see it as a great dress that will get lots of wear as she grows!
When I started cutting the skirt I noticed that the letters weren’t just random but that there were several hidden inspirations in the print! I’ll leave you with this photo as encouragement as you “make” your little ones their Back to School wardrobes! Happy sewing!!!
Big thanks to the Made for Mermaids crew for allowing me to join in on their great blog tour. Be sure to follow along to see all the great sews along the way! I’m sure after seeing all the great inspiration you’ll want to pick up some patterns so be sure to use the coupon code “M4MB2S” for 20% Off (Excludes fabric).
Beautiful!
Thank you!
Super cute jumper Cassie! A perfect pick for school to layer with the weather as it changes. (Does yours even change that much?) 🙂
It does now that we are in Cali! It gets quite cool in the fall and winter!
That fabric is so fun! I haven’t made a jumper in ages. I love it!
Thank you!!! I am currently really in a black & white mood, so the green apple was a nice pop of color!
I did not know this pattern even existed! Love it. She is so cute with the glasses : )
Thank you!!!!
