When you stumble upon a mural wall this cool, it was just meant to be the backdrop for to showcase a sweet new outfit, right??? I carted my kiddos to this coffee shop last week and my nine year old helped photograph my Burnside Bibs, just in time for the #SewBibs challenge deadline. I know I’ve talked before about how much I love all these sewing challenges happening in the Instagram community so it is probably no surprise that I had to sew up these overalls!
I seem to have a thing for a cowl neck Taos Top and overalls, since that’s how I styled my Kendrick Overalls!
I sewed up the Burnside Bibs (pattern by Sew House 7, and my first go with this shop) from this really cool metallic striped Chambray by Andover from Hawthorne Supply Co.
I followed the pattern for a size 6 with the invisible zipper and slim back option, but I did alter the cropped length to be about 2″ shorter for a capri style. I had just made the Kendrick overalls in a true crop length so I wanted to have a different length on these. Plus, I played pattern tetris with the 44″ wide fabric and lost so capri length it was HA! How many cropped overalls does a girl really need, right??
I love the construction of these bibs- the inside has such a clean finish but there wasn’t any fussy parts.
Big shoutout to the ladies behind the #SewBibs challenge- head over to Instagram and scroll the hashtag because there are so many awesome makes!
Also a big WOHOO for my photographer. She really rocks!
