Winter Sewing Round Up 2020-2021

I have been terrible about blogging my me-mades. I feel like blogs are so 2007 but maybe someone likes to read them other than my mom, so I’m back!!! I figured I would keep my post short and sweet as I share with you the projects from this winter…let’s get to it!!!

I sewed this Zoey Misses dress using the most beautiful cranberry rayon by Joann Fabrics. The Zoey Misses pattern is available on the Violette Field Threads website. I sewed a size 4 with no modifications.

This is a modified Vita blouse using gorgeous texture viscose from Blackbird Fabrics. The pattern is available on the Bella Loves Patterns website. I modified the front of the blouse with full shirring, added more width to the sleeve cap and shirred the cuff rather than creating a separate cuff piece.

I went on a little Nikko hack journey and this was my first project. This was a simple hack, just adding more width and height to the sleeve cap to give it a nice little puff! The Nikko top is available on the True Bias website. The fabric is a double brushed poly knit from Joann Fabric.

Another fun Nikko top hack featured this great front cutout inspired by some RTW tops I have seen floating around. I didn’t make a tutorial for this, but will point you towards this similar pattern by Handmade by Karly.

My third Nikko hack features a fun rolled hem detail for the neckline, sleeve and body of the top. I used a rib knit from Minerva.

This last winter project was the Molly Coat by Violette Field Threads. I used a gorgeous faux fur from Minerva.
