Seriously, someone catch me!! I am riding on cloud nine with my girls lately. They have been rocking their photo shoots, and I feel like we three are making a stellar team! I guess the best part of this whole situation (sewing, blogging, photos and the like) is that they 110% love doing it! Of course, the trip to Coldstone after our photo shoot sure helped with some motivation, but they really love wearing pretty things and allowing me to capture these creative memories together. I am one blessed momma!

Without further ado, I present to you…Haven by Violette Field Threads (pattern available for purchase Midnight Wednesday, Feb 25th).

Haven is a vintage inspired pattern, making me nostalgic and full of warm fuzzies. It’s a great way to showcase some gorgeous lace, because you know it’s all about that lace nowadays!! The bodice is a sunsuit-style top, with an optional lace cutout. I used the lace cutout for the dress but just did a simple overlay on the romper. There is an elastic back waistband to keep the garment close to the body. An option to use a waist sash in cute little belt loops is included in the pattern, shown with the romper version. The pattern has a dress option, bubble short romper and pantaloon romper option and is fit for sizes 6/12 months through size 10.

Can we just pause for a moment of swoon-silence for these pantaloons. I mean, the satin ribbon bows, I just can’t help but smile!!

I wanted the style of this new pattern to really shine so I kept my fabric choices subtle and simple. For the pantaloon romper, I chose cream and grey kona cotton solids. The lace I stumbled upon at Fabric Mart is cream with silver details and sequins (and goodness gracious it’s lovely!) so I ran with that color scheme. Grey is totally my new favorite (did I just type that out loud??) for vintage style looks.

For the dress, I picked up this buttery soft linen in a beautiful blue hue. Because the linen was light weight, I lined with a white broadcloth and hemmed it 1/2 inch shorter than the linen skirt. Kenzie has been on a blue kick (thanks, Elsa), so she was happily in love with this dress.
